Weather Blunders!

Tonight was going to be Colin's birthday party. We decided to throw a double birthday party with one of Colin's friends, Matthew. Matthew is turning 6 on Sunday and since he and Colin have the same friends, we decided to do a party together. We reserved the bowling alley weeks ago, ordered a cake weeks ago, bought party favors and sent invitations. What we didn't plan was the weather. Who knew the weather man would actually be correct...they really haven't been lately...so we have been forced to cancel the party, well, not cancel, just reschedule. Since the bowling alley is way across town, everyone has been invited to our house for dinner and cake. The bowling alley has graciously 'moved' our deposit instead of keeping it. They understand the weather and the roads. What a blessing! The boys are rather disappointed, but understand it's dangerous to go out. As of 3:00pm it warmed up enough to rain. The temperature should drop very quickly and then make for a very dangerous ice rink outside!

We'll send pictures of the events at our house this evening. Meanwhile, here's a few pictures of christmas at our house.

We're still praying the weather warms up so our Grampy and Grammy can come...they are going to try on Wednesday to spend New Years with us.

Colin got a two wheel scooter and Curtis got a big boy bike! We video taped them coming into the room where the bikes were sitting - they didn't really react to them. The first thing out of Curtis' mouth was 'Mommy, where Santa go?' - I was like "Don't you see what is in front of you?!?" They finally woke up completely and realized what was going on! It was cute! Colin's other big present? Transformers! It took Brian about 20 minutes (with the instructions in hand) to figure out how to transform them! Curtis got 3 pickup trucks, each pulling a trailer - one with a boat, one with a 4-wheeler, and the third with 2 dirt bikes! He loves them!

Cameron slept through all the opening...here he is sitting in his Bumbo watching the boys play with their new presents. Cameron got some new clothes, some new binkies, and a few toys.

We took down all our Christmas decorations today...and moved in a few more baby things that have been stored up in our loft in the garage. Brian is so happy to have them down from up there. He was not happy to put the cradle back up! I know we can't have anymore babies, but I'm not ready to get rid of that! The clothes, yes. The major baby stuff, no. One of my best friends said I should get rid of them when I"m good and ready! So, the baby stuff may be stored up in the loft for 20 years! Brian is just going to have to live with it! Here's a picture of Cameron sitting in the exersaucer...he really liked it. The big boys really liked the toys too...I think it overwhelmed Cameron a little to have them making so much noise with the toys. Soon enough he'll be playing with them himself!
